One thing that bothers me the most is this DVD, and how all of sudden someone passes away the forget that half of the backstage didn’t like the Ultimate Warrior. This past month with the Hall of Fame and his death WWE comes around and gives the man his props. But let us not forget that 2005 WWE and Warrior was on bad terms. If you haven’t got a chance to watch this DVD it’s on YouTube full length minus the matches they did put in. This is the only DVD based on a wrestlers career that didn’t even have the wrestler on it for interviews. This DVD trashed Warrior and all he did for the company.
The first hour of this DVD is nothing more than a bunch of current WWE employees bad mouthing the Warrior. Everything he accomplished was either due to his opponent or Vince McMahon’s genius. The DVD gets interesting when it starts to explain the Warriors frequent comings and goings, although by this point it is hard to take anything said by any of the guest commentators seriously. According to the DVD, Warrior was fired after SummerSlam 91 because he held Vince up for money before the match, left in the Fall of 92 because he failed a drug test and was fired a third time because he missed dates using the excuse that his father just died yet Vince McMahon claims the Warrior hadn’t seen his dad in 10 years. The Warrior then went to WCW and Eric Bishoff didn’t have too many good things to say about the Warrior either. In the only bit of genuine honesty on the DVD, Hulk Hogan admits that he screwed up in their Halloween Havoc 97 match and caused it to be bad when he couldn’t light up a piece of flash paper. The DVD ends with the consensus that the Warrior was nothing but a flash in the pan. The only redeeming part of this disc is Christian’s impersonation of a Warrior interview.
This DVD mocked Warrior and it pisses me off that they have a changed of heart and did all these great things for him. It’s obvious both parties made up whenever it was announced him being in WWE 2k14, which excited me because growing up he was my favorite wrestler. WWE has a bad habit of trashing someone then acting like nothing has happened.
Don’t even get me started on Macho Man
Again this is just my rant, if you haven’t seen the DVD it’s on YouTube and you be the judge for yourself.
I love WWE and pro wrestling I don’t remember a time I didn’t watch (I’m 24) I just want people to know sometimes the truth comes out way before anyone has a chance to listen.
